Malta
Currency:

One
thing to keep in mind in Malta and I think the principal is where we
will stay for although the island is very small and practically short
distances required for all bus so if they want to party in Sliema or
St. giljian if you like the golden sandy beach and bay or Melieha
monuments or if you want a city with history in valletta although
depending on the time that this can be done in Malta around cultural
tourism academies learn English and meet people, sun and beach
tourism, or tourism holiday and of course sailing on boats and diving
holiday,
Fruit stalls and fish
June 16
Madrid was our first stop before your flight to Madrid, because they
prefer a flight with stopovers before choosing direct flights to
Malta on Saturday with Ryanair.

June 17 frankfort-scale flight arrival malta malta 10 night
Normally service hotels and fit have
collected and brought to the airport for 20 euros and a taxi is about
20 euros round

about two miles from Sliema Ferries is the central bus and ferry from
Sliema but this situation you have to go by bus to all locations

|
|
The apartments are normal but few with
air conditioning and in Malta in May, June, July, August, September
is crucial that it had but was out there fit and well located hotels
in Sliema but no air conditioning and are highly recommended to avoid
these waste much time. Thus we come to another major point of the
island buses, changed in 2011 and have their rates were modernized
lines and a web page: ( malta
bus ) there is little to see unless memorize move, you can
move anywhere but have to juggle schedules and locations are not
punctual sometimes delayed 30 minutes or more but partly by tourists,
there tikets tikets 2.20 a trip one day or 7 days 2.60 12 euros this
would be the more recommended as well and what starts acontar
amortize the first time you checked But if you have a hotel suited
lose out every day between 2 and 3 hours between trips and expect
gjwab eg St Sliema ferries are 2 km, well as the bus took 30 minutes
plus another 30 are expected to average two hours to and from the
center.
June 18 (Sliema)
Contact with heat and school
In
malt rises at 5 or so and it starts the day with a tremendous heat in
the sun is vertical and is wet and sticky or you adapt or can not be,
schools begin at 9 am in intensive courses are until 14.30 or 15 so
if you have to take bus must leave 8 am and arrive at four am my
language school was very very good but a little good teachers away
was central Sliema and Manuel Dimech great companions, made lots of
friends and the guides were fantastic Españolé and the school has
different activities than English, welcoming cruise ships to joy
cumin, boat party, able to go to the beach club, Paceville and
hangouts for diving , and parties at different clubs, with an
intermediate level you speak in English all the time and you have to
learn or go and learn a lot being around and talking with peers,
school's cafeteria to eat and thus ideally eat there and leave if
your floor is far, and then to go to the beach in Sliema beaches are
rocky and the best is across Sliema ferries in surfside is very nice
to spend the day

June 19 (San
Gjwan)
School,
making contact with the English
The apartment was located near the lidl
with what is very cheap, there is also a very typical and beautiful
church.
Another typical thing in the morning is
to check the stalls of fruit and fish, the Maltese are very nice and
offered us their hospitality.
That evening was dedicated to see
Sliema, the bay with the church of Valletta in the background, shops
and climbed the bridge at the end of Sliema ferries where the views
are spectacular, we also found that for the convenience of those who
want beach there are beach club linked Hotels are places to private
beach and pool, you pay an entrance between 4 and 12 euros depending
on which day you and saltwater pool, sunbeds, bar and restaurants are
beautiful and are highly recommended.
June 20
Day
English course, the heat is suffocating in Malta and this makes that
there is always very tired. At school you can do different activities
on reservation, I put all the activities below with the following
website which is the bus company, and this is the level of different
areas, san giljian, Sliema, St Gjwan.
First
school activity, look for the club tonight skyscrapers 22 in Sliema,
a highly recommended place to have drinks, dance in an exclusive,
very pretty and definitely spectacular view from there is very close
to the well-known paceville the younger nightlife district with
hundreds of clubs disco, chill out bars, footloose liked that had an
agreement with the school, where they played music native Spanish or
so they said, havana etc. The drink is very cheap, local beer CISK
highly recommended 2 euros third, 2 cups euros although very small,
10 euros 12 tequilas shorts, definitely a haven for partying cheap
That night we met a lot of Spanish
people and outside and it was great.
To return home at night there are
different ways, city buses end at 11 pm, then there is a community
that you take taxis crowded for 2 euros per person you are leaving
everyone in his house caught this option the place to catch them this
early in Paceville, there are night bus also caught the beginning of
Paceville and cost 2.5 euros the way but if you go 2 or more people
as quickly, probably an official taxi, haggle and will take you
anywhere for 10 euros, in Paceville are offering themselves at
various prices.

Tuesday July 26
(Floriana) and MTV Island
Great
Day because it happened to coincide with one of the great events that
take place in Malta in the summer is the MTV Island, set of concerts
that the famous television
held every summer in Malta, and tonight
was the grand conclusion with a concert in Floriana in Valletta and
the stellar performance of Nelly Furtado, Flo-Rida and am will to the
black eye peas, for it had to contract with the the school to take us
for 5 euros to Valletta on an organized tour because public transport
was crowded that day, we were perfectly free entry to the concert and
a great ambience in Floriana with lit church could enjoy this
concert. We also saw the entry gate of the city. It was one of the
most incredible days
Visit the official website of this
event:
WEDNESDAY, JULY 27

of several Beach Club in this case we chose the Beach Club Hotel
Fortina white near the bridge where Sliema ends before reaching the
lighthouse, order entry week is 12 euros and entitles Sunbathe or
loungers and parasols that if cathedral views of Valletta, stunning
fireworks all day, party boat passing in front of your nose, you can
have coffee in their bars or eat in their restaurants and swim in the
saltwater pools definitely a delight.
Lido Beach Club |
MONDAY JULY 2
and
in one of these coffees that stand in the bay had coffee, is a site
with spectacular views with letters I LOVE YOU to the bottom, take
the opportunity to shop for souvenirs. We had something in the
recommended site Paparazzi.
TUESDAY JULY 3 (Ghajn Tuffieha)
This
day was the beach and decided to go north of the island to see one of
the best sandy beaches, Golden Bay where they filmed the movie Troy,
the famous beaches where Brad Pitt (Achilles) landed.

|
||||
|
|||||
With the same
bus number 32 can travel from Sliema Ferries to the same site Golden Bay called Ghajn Tuffieha, with Arabic characters in their name as many words in Maltese, As you can see on the map the 32 bus from Sliema Ferries crosses and San Gjwan passes through the city of Mosta where we could see one of the most spectacular churches domed and rounded shape is really spectacular and advisable to see a special feature of this church is that in the Second World War a bomb fell there for a Mass and the pump did not explode, the bomb is preserved and certainly the locals thought it was divine action which did not detonate the bomb after we saw the church Mosta Mgarr another city we go through also very nice and after an hour of travel we arrived at Golden Bay, the spectacular beach is flanked by hotels and beach bars, but the only fault I have is that the most popular beach in the water is very dirty, pass rocks and the other side is a local to learn Tango and snorkel, very beautiful to see, people start to get to the beach with bottles and barbecues to stay for the night, the truth is a very nice and you CISK can take a typical beer at one of the bars watching the sun set, we also eat the typical gastronomy pastizzi typical of Maltese as an appetizer, very rich. Along with Rabbit sauce is one of the most typical dishes.
All food can visit the page in world
cuisine
Upon arriving at our neighborhood could
come and see the church of San Gjwan ultimately Beach Day and
churches.
WEDNESDAY JULY
4 (Paceville)
We dedicate this day to tour San
Giljian, and Paceville, we saw the building 22, the Hard Rock Café
at the end of Paceville and especially one thing that struck us was
to see little churches lit with neon lights amidst all Party thirsty
crowd that certainly the last thing you expect to see this type of
premises here, in a place called Paceville Tapas met in front of the
Hard Rock Cafe where you can listen to music Chill out on the
terrace, smoking hookah, ride attractions , or lounge by the pool is
a very very exotic, as always in malt drink is quite cheap what
attracts tourism of adolescence.
But tonight we saw that there is a
certain lack of security in Paceville amid the move because they were
stolen from inside bag purse with all documentation. But we did not
realize until two days later in which the Odyssey tell the police.

MALTA STORY OF ACHIEVEMENTS
History and ancient megalithic
Main article: Ancient History of Malta .Phoenicians, Greeks, Carthaginians and Romans
The arrival of the Phoenicians occurred around the year 1000. C. , which they named the main island Malat , meaning safe haven , which was the base for trade and exploration through the Mediterranean Sea. In 736 a. C. , the Greeks occupied the island making it the colony Melita , although their presence is not significant haste period Hellenistic .Phoenicians had established colonies in the same time also in Cyprus , eastern Sicily and North Africa . The reason for the occupation is not only commercial, is also strategic power over Greek and Etruscan .
islands then passed to the control of Carthage (in 400 BC. ) after pleading hostilities with the Greeks. Malta has assumed the role of border between two great powers when Alexander makes his appearance. By 264. C. Roma is interested in conquering islands and around 218 a. C. during the Second Punic War . The islands prospered under Roman rule and during that time were considered a municipium and feodorata civitas . Many traces of Roman presence still exist, testifying to the close link between the Maltese and the Romans. Malta becomes a safe haven for the fleet in winter Romana allowing it to act in the center of the Mediterranean at all times. In 60 AD, the islands were visited by St. Paul , is said in the Acts of the Apostles that sank off the coast in what is now called the San Pablo Bay .
Byzantines and Arabs
After a brief rule of the Byzantines in 533 as the chronicles and for fleet use in various ports of Gozo and Malta, plus a probable sacking of the Vandals , the islands were conquered by Aghlabids in 878 , more unusually later than other areas of the Mediterranean coast as the Visigothic Hispania and this probably due to their isolation and the difficulty of arriving by sea from Africa. The Arab influence can be found in modern Maltese , a language heavily Romanized originally derived from the Arabic vernacular. During this time the inhabitants were converted to Islam to avoid being enslaved. In 1090 , the Arabs were finally replaced by the Normans of Sicily in command of Roger I , after Malta were to be Christian, but it took a second expedition in 1127 for total control of the archipelago with Roger II . It was at this time that was created Maltese nobility . It still stands today, and there are 32 titles that are still in use, being the oldest of the Barons and Buqana Djar Bniet il .Twelfth to the sixteenth century
After the expulsion of the Muslims in 1248 the Arabic language and the Sicilian lived and Malta depended on various lords. Since 1373 Malta has an assembly ( Università ) that dictates its own rules and kept, at least apparently, its independence from the Lords, although consisted of lawyers, clergy and landowners. Regulating the trade and imparted justice and formed a group of soldiers charged with the defense of cities. Actually the model was not far from feudalism Europe.Malta maintained its strategic position with respect to Normans, Sicily and the Arabs. Trade relations were fluid. It was on the route that started from Castile and Aragon to the east of the Mediterranean, between Genoa and North Africa (specifically the ports of Tunisia and Algeria ). During this time the production of cotton was important, becoming a major export.
The Christianity was reintroduced to the islands in 1127 by Roger II . It spread quickly, but did not have Obispo own until 1366 , establishing the first religious orders like the Franciscans in 1372 and Benedictine . This helped establish the history of St. Paul's presence in antiquity.
From 1282 Malta became part of the Crown of Aragon . At the beginning of the period the dominance of foreign traders in the economy of southern Italy and Sicily was very pronounced. The Catalans were also forming an important group of trade while the Genoese bankers could specify how many credits facilitated the Aragonese crown. Following the unification of the Kingdom of Castile and Aragon and the Mediterranean expansion of the same between 1500 and 1510 , which resulted in the conquest of Tripoli , Sfax , Melilla and Oran , the importance of Malta in the Crown of Naples was much lower.
In 1530 , the islands were ceded by Spain Carlos I of the Order of Knights of the Hospital of St. John of Jerusalem who had been driven out of Rhodes by the Ottoman Empire in 1522 in perpetuity, in exchange for a token payment hawk every year. This militant monastic order, known ever since as the Order of Malta , was besieged by the Ottoman Turks in 1565 , after the fortifications strengthened, especially in the new city of Valletta , named by Jean Parisot de la Valette, its constructor.
From Napoleon to the present day
His dominance ended when Napoleon
conquered the island in 1798
. The French occupation was unpopular, however, due to their negative
attitude towards religion. The
Maltese rebelled against them , and the French were forced to
retreat behind fortifications. The United
Kingdom of Great Britain , along with the Kingdom
of the Two Sicilies , sent ammunition and aid. The British also
sent his fleet, which imposed a blockade on the islands. The isolated
French forces under General Claude-Henri
Belgrande of Vaubois surrendered in 1800
, and the British took control of the islands, becoming a
protectorate and was presented by several Maltese leaders to Sir
Alexander Ball .
In 1814 , as part the Treaty of Paris , Malta officially became part of the British Empire . Due to its strategic location in the middle of the Mediterranean, halfway between the base estrceho British and Gibraltar to the west and the Suez Canal and the British Egypt to the east, came to be used as a port of call to the British India and being Fleet headquarters until the mid 1930s . Malta played an important role during the Second World War , as well as their position was midway between Fascist Italy and battlefield in Libya and North Africa, so it was a thorn in aprovisonamiento lines of Axis being heavily bombed and besieged. The courage of the people led to the delivery of the George Cross , which today can be seen on the flag of the country.
Malta's independence was granted on September 21 of 1964 . According to the 1964 Constitution, the sovereign remains Malta Queen Elizabeth II , and a governor general exercised executive authority on their behalf. But on December 13 of 1974 , Malta became a republic within the Commonwealth , with the President as head of state. Although Malta was entirely independent since 1964, the British services remained in the country and maintained full control over ports, airports, post offices, radio and television until March 31 of 1979 , when the last British troops left the island after the British government refused to pay the fee to the Maltese government wanted the moment (Labour) to allow British forces remain in the country. The Prime Minister was then Dominic Mintoff . Malta was found in free time foreign military bases for the first time in history. This event is now celebrated as Freedom Day . Malta joined the European Union on May 1 of 2004 .
